Dubai Open LIVE: World No.1 Iga Swiatek looks to enter yet another final in the WTA Tour this year. The 21-year old is in action against Coco Gauff in the semifinals of the Dubai Open 2023. Swiatek has yet again started the contest on a positive note. She managed to break the American and is leading in the first set. Swiatek made it to the semis after receiving a walkover from Karolina Pliskova. Meanwhile, fifth seed Gauff sailed past her compatriot Madison Keys in straight sets in the quarterfinal. - Iga Swiatek is aiming to enter his second successive final in the WTA Tour this year.
- The 21-year old has dropped just three games in the tournament so far and is on a terrific form.
- She began her campaign in the WTA 1000 event with a 6-1, 6-1 win against Leylah Fernandez.
- In the second round, she faced 14th seed Liudmila Samsnova and sailed past the Russian 6-1, 6-0.
- Karolina Pliskova then gave her a walkover after going down with a viral fever that helped Swiatek to reach her second successive semifinal.
- Coco Gauff too is in a terrific form at the Dubai Tennis Championships. The 18-yera old is yet to drop a set in the tournament.
- She started her campaign with a 6-0, 6-4 win against Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round.
- In the second she was about to face a challenge from Australian Open runner-up Elena Rybakina. However she was given a walkjover after Rybakina pulled out of the contest.
- In the quarterfinal, she was clinched a 6-2, 7-5 win against Madison Keys to enter the semifinal.
- She began the year by winning the ASB Classic title. The teenager entered the Australian Open as one of the favourites. However she bowed out from the fourth round.
- Just before the Dubai Open, she made it to the quarterfinal of the Qatar Open.
Swiatek vs Gauff Head-to-Head: Iga Swiatek has dominated against the American as she has won all the five matches between both the players. They last met at the WTA Finals last year and Swiatek clinched a 6-3, 6-0 win against Gauff. The Polish 21-year old yet again enters the contest as the favourite.
